Comment: ENFIELD No.4T SNIPER or No.5 JUNGLE CARBINE RIFLE CLEANING KIT TIN AS ISSUED UNUSED. Cleaning kit WWII issue. Wartime Dispersal Number M617 identifies it as being made by Illinsworth & Co. Ltd. in Mansfield UK. I believe these tins are made of Aluminium as there are no signs of rust on the case. Rust is common on the steel kits that were issued later in the war (due to the scarcity of aluminium).
Complete with two correct (heat treated) gauze pads, brush with bakelite handle, pull thru with steel weight, bakelite oil bottle and 4x2 cleaning cloth. Also comes with the distinctive aroma of old army surplus equipment. If you are a collector you will understand! Many more photos available.
