Comment: Japanese WW2 machine gun captured by Australians and was sadly chopped up for scrap along with many other items and parts of cannon and tank armament at the armored museum in the early days. Saved from scrap and eventually registered and rebuilt by me legally when state police changed laws to accommodate such legal registration and preservation, still lost in many states sadly.
Gun is registered as a working gun but currently rebuilt to display state only, so would satisfy most deactivated conditions now as well to make it working, inside would need machining and bore sleeved as the gun was cut up into a number of parts. Some of the original cut-up parts replaced and internals are included in the sale as well as scarce optic scope, magazine carry case and rusty but sound magazine with history which will be supplied to new owner.
This item is an iconic enemy gun favored for use by our troops when captured and is preserved in private hands despite best efforts of government museum to do otherwise in the past, proving the need for private collectors yet again. This would make a great center of a display for pacific war collection for collector or RSL
